MLK Day
On Thursday, January 11th, Family Bridge Inc., celebrated its second annual Coffee & Pastries on MLK Day. On this special occasion, we were honored to have Ms. Delores Singleton as our guest speaker. Ms. Singleton’s father, Milton Crenchaw, was one of the original Tuskegee Airmen, during World War II. He was trained by the federal government as a licensed civilian pilot. After the war, he would go on to become a licensed flight instructor in 1941, for several airbases and one college. Mr. Crenchaw was inducted into the Arkansas Aviation Hall of Fame in 1998. In addition, he was also inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame on October 27, 2007. Encyclopedia of Arkansas.net (2023, October 6). We were also graced with the presence of the Founder of Family Bridge Inc., Mrs. Cordelia Ofoegbu. She discussed the origin of our non-profit and how she was inspired to develop outreach programs and provide resources, in support of our community, while volunteering for Hosea Helps (formerly Hosea Feed the Hunger.)
On every Friday, Family Bridge Inc. has a food pantry that is open to the public, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM EST.
The Seniors enjoyed fresh coffee, juice and delicious pastries while learning more about our American History.
